Meetings and Events

Weekly Meetings

9:30am Remembrance Meeting
In this meeting we remember the Lord and His death for us. You may know it as a communion service, however it seems to be somewhat unique to visitors, since it is unscripted and we use what we call an open format for this meeting. This means that various men will take turns sharing a passage of scripture, suggesting a hymn, or praying, with the purpose of leading our thoughts about the death and resurrection of Christ. There may be times of quiet reflection as well, as we consider all that Christ has accomplished for us. Towards the end of the meeting, we give thanks and share bread and grape juice as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's death on the cross.
10:30am Fellowship Time
Enjoy coffee, cookies, and conversation between meetings.
11:00am Family Bible Hour
This meeting is designed for the whole family. We have Bible classes for children and adults.
4:30pm Bible Teaching
This is a time of in-depth study of the Bible and topics related to living the Christian life, held in a round-table, interactive format. (This meeting is not held on the first Sunday of each month.)

7:00pm Prayer Meeting
This is when we meet to pray for one another and the work of the Lord in our neighborhood and around the world.

Monthly Events

Fellowship Lunch
Stay after the morning meetings on the first Sunday of each month for a good potluck meal.
Men's Prayer Breakfast
The men get together one Saturday a month at 8:00 to have breakfast, pray, and discuss the practical concerns of the church.
Game Night

Annual Events

Evening Vacation Bible School
For one week in the summer we invite children from the neighborhood to join us for Bible stories, games, and crafts.
Eastern Iowa Bible Conference
The third weekend in October we host a weekend conference held at our chapel. It is a great time to spend together as we invite an outside speaker to share from God's word with us.
Emmaus Evening Bible Class
For twelve weeks starting in September, a teacher from Emmaus Bible College (Dubuque, IA) is invited to teach from God's word each Monday night, starting at 7:00.
High Point Christmas Program
Each year we plan, practice, and perform a musical Christmas Program involving the Sunday School children and adults. This occurs on a Sunday evening in December.

Other Events

Short Term Mission Trips
As needs and interest arise, we travel to help and encourage other believers in their local ministries. These are great opportunities to gain a better understanding of the needs around the world.
Summer Camps
Throughout the summer, our young people spend time at Bible camps where they learn more about God's word, make friends, and spend time enjoying the outdoors. Some go for a week, others spend an entire summer working at the camps. See the resources page for a list of camps we support.
