The Good News of Jesus Christ

The Truth About God

God is real and cares about you. He wants to have a relationship with you and for you to be with him forever when you die. He is loving, good, kind, just, and pure.

The Truth About Us

We as human beings try to be like God in many ways - we try to be loving, good, and kind, but don't seem to always make it. You and I have both caught ourselves being selfish, lying, or even stealing. We know in our hearts that these things (often called sins) are wrong, but we don't know what to do about it other than to try better next time, or just give up. It is these things that keeps us from having a relationship with God - his purity and justice cannot allow evil beings like us into his presence (Rom 3:23).

The Truth About Jesus

Jesus is the one man who was able to always be loving, good, and kind. This is because God became a man, who was (and is) called Jesus, whose name means "God saves." Because Jesus was God and man, he was able to live a perfect life that was acceptable to God. But he also choose to suffer and die as a sacrifice to God for our sins out of love for us (John 3:16). Why did he have to die? The Bible says, "The payment for sin is death" (Rom 6:23). Death is not merely the absence of life, but a separation of one person from another. It is in this sense that sin results in death - we are separated from God when we sin, and Jesus was separated from God when he died many years ago. But Jesus did not only die, he also came to life again. This was because God accepted Jesus' death as payment for sin.

The Good News

God has provided the means for you to have a relationship with him, the most wonderful person in the universe. All he asks is that we turn from our self-reliance and trust in what he has done to save us from the separation that results from sin. It is a moral choice: Either continue living life as you have without God, or else turn to God, acknowledging that you have sinned against him and desire for him to forgive you because of the death and resurrection of Jesus.
